Now I know Why I'm Always Tired

I've been moonlighting at the European Parliament in a fugue See me one row behind and to the left (naturally) of the Czech prime minister who is calling the stimulus the "road to hell."

We Need a Hegemon Who Won't Drive Us Crazy...

In the future the world is likely to become a more complicated place without a single hegemonic and dominant public financial institution. To my mind, this creates grave dangers for the next quarter century....

Krishna Guha Worries About Governance

I agree with him in the general, but each time a particular case comes along somehow I trust the Federal Reserve and the Treasury more than I trust Congress, and wish them untrammeled discretion.... *

What we or at least I can hope is that the failure of the Czech Prime Minister means the failure of American missiles to be placed in the Czech Republic to threaten Russia. Even so, we will find another way to threaten Russia or another suitable country for that is our way.
